Jingle Bells Personal Progress Handout

I know I haven't posted a handout in a while, but this one couldn't wait until after the Christmas Chaos.

Here is a little Personal Progress reminder I made this morning for our girls that is fun to pass along during the Christmas holiday.  I'm hoping the lyrics catch on so they'll be singing this in their heads every time they hear Jingle Bells this season!

Have fun and enjoy!

Holiday Open House continued...

We will be holding one last Open House event this week.  I've been adding goodies here and there to our blog and to Etsy.  By request, I'll have everything out one last time before the holidays on Thursday from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.  If you need more information as far as directions and all are concerned please contact me directly.

In the meantime, here are some of the goodies we've been making for others that have been great gift ideas for the Christmas.  These first three are all $20 each.

The Family Rules boards are approximately 12" wide and 24" tall, with beige vinyl.

The Established board is approximately 8" wide and 24" tall.  The board is painted black with beige vinyl and a gold vinyl overlay.

What a great teacher gift for Christmas.  The stand is approximately 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" deep and 8" long.  It is painted black with beige vinyl letter and comes with the metal and a magnet. This board is $7.50

We have a few others we need to photograph before they can be posted, or you can always swing by to see everything in person.!

Holiday Open House...Last but not least

The Open House photos would not be complete without our stocking hanger.  It's 36" long and is displayed with white vinyl.

Always a holiday favorite, especially when you live in Arizona and not many homes have fireplaces.  The one displayed has eight names which is the largest number of names for the 36".  It will be customized when you order to suit your family's needs.  During the Open House it's $25 completed, or $12 for the vinyl alone.

These Joy to the World blocks are my absolute favorite!  I love them.  They are simple and fun, but classy at the same time.

The blocks are 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and are painted red.  The JOY letters are beige with a metallic gold run through.  The vinyl alone is $1.50 during the Open House, and the blocks are $4.00 completed.

This is obviously not something that is holiday specific, but it is definitely a fun vinyl project for your home.  We have created a custom art display on our wall and can do the same for your home.

Unfortunately pricing will depend greatly on the space you are working with.  The greatest part about this project is the words, fonts and size is completely customized to you and your family.  The best part: our 20% Open House discount pricing does apply to custom orders also!

Here are some more pictures to look through.  I'll get details up later after I get some sleep...it's been a really busy day.  Thank you to everyone who came by and purchased goodies, and for those who have made purchases online.  We are having a ball and hope you enjoy shopping!

I love this Wise Men Still Seek Him plate.  What a great reminder for our holiday season.  Open House special pricing for the vinyl alone is $3.75 for the vinyl alone and $6.00 for the completed plate.

Wondering about the Santa monkeys?  These are the monkeys we have in our bathroom year round.  During the holidays we love decorating the bathroom too, but mom did not want to take the monkeys off the wall.  This was a great way to incorporate our year round decor into our holiday decor.  So why the photo?  Just a little inspiration for the rest of you thinking about your holiday decorating.

Here is a cute idea for holiday dress up of some simple glass containers.  We have used red snowflakes to dress up some jars purchased at the dollar store.  One 6" x 12" sheet of snowflakes in various sizes is only $4 during the Holiday Open House.  The snowflakes on the sheet vary in size between 1/2" and 2".  If you would prefer a traditional decorators sheet of snowflakes, a 12" x 12" sheet has snowflakes varying in size from 1" to 4" for only $8 with the Open House pricing.

President Hinckley's Be's are always a favorite.  This plate is a great display.  Shown in white on a black plate, the Open House pricing is $4.50 for vinyl only, $7.00 for the completed plate.  The vinyl is available in multiple colors depending on your plate color of choice.  Please message me if you are interested in a different color scheme.

Monograms are a classic.  This monogram tile is displayed in a chocolate brown vinyl on a 12" tile.  The detail in the design does not make it friendly to smaller than 12" x 12".  During the Open House, vinyl only is $4.50, the completed tile is $8.75.

Even though I live in Arizona, snowflakes are a favorite Christmas decoration in our house.  I think it's because I can safely leave the snowman up as winter decor into February.  It's a set of three separate wood pieces designed to stack together.  It measures approximately 12" x 7" x 1 1/2" assembled. A do it yourself kit is available during the Open House for $7.50 and the completed blocks for $12.00.

Another great stacker for the holidays.  It's a set of three separate wood pieces designed to stack together.  It measures approximately 12" x 7" x 1 1/2" assembled.  A do it yourself kit is available during the Open House for $7.50 and the completed blocks for $12.00.

Holiday Open House Part 2

We have a little break in traffic so I'm updating some of the photos we didn't get online last night.

First on the list is the Forget Not tile with the flower.  The pricing is the same during the Open House as the tile without the flower.

The vinyl alone in 6" x 6" is $2.75 and for the 12" x 12" $5.50.  For completed tiles the price is $4.50 for the 6"x6" and $8.00 for the 12"x12"

Another Open House favorite has been our scrabble wall art.  This was super fun to make.  I have a disclaimer that Lexi actually tripped over it when I was taking photos so it's a little crooked.  I promise if you choose to order one for yourself we will not let her any where near it.   We chose Ogden Together Forever.  If Eternal Family or Forever Family works better we can adjust the letter options.

The squares are 2 1/2" wide x 3" tall and are mounted together with screws through the back.  The final measurements will depend on the wording of your name.  If you would like another saying we can work with you.  If you choose to order this project you will receive a proof before hand to make sure you like the way the letters/words are grouped together.

Up to 20 letters the completed project is $25 for the open house. $0.75 a letter for every additional letter to be included.

This glass block nativity is always a hit. The blocks are privacy glass that we have purchased at Lowes.  The vinyl for the blocks is $6.00 during the Open House.  It is extremely easy to apply if you want to make it yourself.

To purchase the completed nativity it is $26 during the Open House.

Here is a Christmas countdown my sister asked me to make her that turned out SOOOO cute.  She saw the idea for a Halloween countdown on another blog.  All orders for this do not include the chocolate kisses, sorry.

This is a 12x12 1/2" mdf board and the kisses are placed in 25 holes to countdown until Christmas.  There is ribbon on the outside of the board.  There is a keyhole to hang the board, but the kisses do stick out the back a little so I found a stand works better.  The completed project is $12 during the Open House.

Another project that my sister found and I made for she and a friend of ours.  This one came off a tutorial on Lil Luna.

The completed project is 20" wide and 12" tall.  There are keyholes in the back of the board for hanging, or we can tie ribbon to the top if you prefer.  The cost is $12.50 during the Open House for the completed board, or $2.50 for the vinyl which is approximately 2 1/4" x 12"

Our fall tiles were so fun this year.  The one shown is a 6x6 tile with chocolate brown vinyl.

Open House pricing for the vinyl is $1.75 for 6"x6" and $3.50 for 12"x12".

Open House pricing for the completed 6" x 6" tile is $3.00 and $5.50 for the 12" x 12" tile.

Here's a good selection of our ornaments.

The ornaments are all glass.  The Mickey ornaments are $5.25 regularly, $4.20 during the Open House.  The other ornaments are $2.50 each during the Open House.  They can be personalized like the name and #1 teacher, or there are Christmas options if you don't want to think about what to put on the ornament.

And speaking of Mickey ornaments, I was asked today if I could do a Minnie ornament also.  If you haven't seen the close up of the Mickey ornaments, click on the link above.

This is Minnie and the pricing is the same as Mickey.

We love to decorate chargers and plates around the holidays.  It's so fun to take around cookies to friends and neighbors, or to have something festive to use as a wall display.  The charger we used for this project was purchased at Target.  The vinyl is $4.50 and is navy blue.  If you want a completed plate is $7.00. If you have a different size plate to use please contact me and we can adjust the picture.

Fun and practical is always a great way to go around the holidays.  Here is a magnetic recipe holder.  The stand is 8" wide and holds a paper covered magnetic surface.  The product includes a magnet to hold your recipe cards in place.  The stand is displayed in red, but can be changed to a number of colors to correspond with your kitchen decor.  The price is $6 during the Open House.

Our etched glass nativity was our all time favorite last year.  The glass is 5" x 7" and is set in a stand that is 8" long.  The vinyl is gold metallic.  If this is shipped to you it will come with the two pieces wrapped separately to ensure the glass will not break.  This makes a wonderful Christmas gift.

The nativity is $6.75 during the open house.

We are looking at doing a make and take for this project in November.  Because the wood is spray painted, we will be doing that in advance to save time.  The total time to complete the project is approximately 30 minutes and the cost for supplies is $4.75.  Please let me know if you are interested.

Please contact me at andvinyltoo@yahoo.com with your orders and we will set up a custom order on Etsy for you.  Happy Holiday shopping!

Holiday Open House Part 1

I am so excited to get these up on the blog for those who can't come to the Open House.  We were able to set up a table at the school carnival today, so I'll be posting the items that were most popular first.  For those who are purchasing items as part of the Open House you will be receiving a 20% discount.  These prices will be good on all orders placed through November 19th.

The all time favorite of the night were our scrabble tiles.  These are available in any letter of the alphabet.  The ones displayed are stained, however, if you would rather have them on painted white wood that is also available.  The wood is 4 1/4" tall x 3 1/2" width x 1 1/2" deep.

During the Open House the tiles are $1.00 each.  If you are interested in a different size please let me know and we will adjust the pricing accordingly. Very fun!

This Thanksgiving board is a 1" x 6" board cut to 24" long.  (Exact measurements 5/8" x 5 3/8" x 24")

The board is painted brown with beige vinyl lettering. The vinyl alone is $6.50 or $12.00 for the completed board.

We made plaques for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.  The plaques both measure 8" x 8".  They are made from MDF.  The Thanksgiving plaque is painted chocolate brown with beige lettering.

The Christmas plaque is painted Christmas red with white lettering.  During the Open House pricing, each of the plaques are $7.50 completed or $4.50 for the vinyl alone.  Both can be placed on a shelf, or hung on a wall.

I personally LOVE the definition art.  The forever in Love definition displayed here has been applied to 12x12 1/2"MDF.   The board is painted black and the vinyl displayed is beige.

We have many other definitions available.  All definitions cut to 12"x12" are $5.75 for the vinyl alone and $10.00 for the completed boards during the Open House.

I have many favorites as far as vinyl is concerned, but I think this will always be on my favorites list.  The vinyl is displayed in an 11x14 black frame with the backing removed.  The live, laugh, love quotes fit well in any home and the frame shown is a simple and easy way to put together your display.

During the Open House the vinyl alone is $5.75 and the completed frame is $11.50

Last for this post is our forget not tiles.  I gave a sneak peak on Facebook earlier this week and then someone asked if I could make a minor change.  Because of this, the final product does look a little different from the original picture.  In addition, in the next post I'll include a picture of the time with a flower added! The vinyl alone in 6" x 6" is $2.75 and for the 12" x 12" $5.50.  For completed tiles the price is $4.50 for the 6"x6" and $8.00 for the 12"x12"

Again, we have plenty of custom designs to choose from.  I can't possibly put everything online, but want to highlight items included created specifically for the open house.  Happy Shopping!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

It's time to start thinking about Christmas and one thing that always says Christmas to me is ornaments for the tree.  Ornaments are great gifts that people will actually use.  Several families have a tradition of new ornaments every year also.

I'm posting today my absolute favorite ornament we have ever made.  The ornaments are a flatten clear glass globe, 3" in diameter with vinyl lettering adhered to it. The first initial of the individual's first name is used for the focal point, with the whole name underneath. The size of the name and the focal image will depend on the length of the name.

The ornaments are $5.25 each.

Shipping through USPS is $3.00 up to four ornaments and then $0.75 for each additional ornament.

Local orders can be picked up or delivered.

The vinyl is typically red and black to follow the Mickey Mouse theme.  If you would like another color scheme to match your tree decor, please let me know.

2012 Mutual Theme

I am so excited about the 2012 mutual theme.  Here's some subway art for the theme in 12x12 and 6x6 vinyl.  The 12x12 includes the scriptural reference, the 6x6 does not.  The photos I have taken to display the art are shown on tiles purchased from Lowe's.  These are an inexpensive, easy way to display the vinyl, but wood works well also, and allows a little more flexibility with colors.  I'll get a few more samples up soon, but didn't want to wait too long as there are a lot of us already thinking Christmas and New Beginnings.

12x12 2012 Subway Art Tile

The 12x12 is $5.50 for the vinyl,
$17.50 for a package of 4

If you are interested in a different color or different size, please e-mail me at andvinyltoo@yahoo.com

6x6 2012 Mutual Theme Subway Art Tile Style 012a on left, 012b on right

The 6x6 is $2.50 for the vinyl, $8.50 for a set of 4
The vinyl is currently available in black, white, chocolate brown, and beige.

If you are interested in a different color or different size, please e-mail me at andvinyltoo@yahoo.com

Oh so much fun!

Choice & Accountability 2 and Divine Nature 6 Doorhangers

I try my hardest to come up with something original for each value experience, but some things are just worth repeating.
Our Stake Young Women President made a comment at our stake meeting about birthday door hangers that made me think to make these.
Choice & Accountability 2

Divine Nature 6

The girls have commented that having their calendar checklists somewhere visible to help keep them on track with the two and three week values is really helpful.  We couldn't think of a better way than having it on her door every time she walks in and out of her room. One of the young women I showed these to asked if I'd make more.  Hopefully I'll be done with that project by the end of the week.

For the two I have made already, the link for the file on scribd is beneath the individual photos of the door hangers on the one of the girl's doors. The door hangers print two to a page with easy line guides for cutting.

Hope your young women find them as helpful as ours!

Choice & Accountability Value Experience 4

Since this value experience talks about repentance I decided to use an eraser.  I found the white erasers with a paper cover at Walmart 2/$1.00.  They are the store generic "office" brand.  (The package is in the back of the photo) The template will fit perfectly around their erasers.  If you have another size eraser you'd like to use let me know and I can adjust the handout for you.  I printed the sheet on cardstock, it prints nine to a page.

The lines are extremely faint on the printed page.  I did this so there wouldn't be any stress about lining them up on the edges perfectly.  If you line up one of the wide sides to the eraser and fold from there I don't think you'll have any problems.  The Choice & Accountability 4 end will fold over the bottom of the eraser cover and I glued it together with a good old fashioned glue stick.

These turned out better than I hoped!

New Personal Progress Reminders

I'm excited to share some new personal progress reminders.  I've posted a lot with little treats before, but the girls in our ward don't always get a little treat.  Sometimes it's one of the girls sharing, and sometimes a little quote or thought they can throw in their scriptures.  I have a few of both this time.  I know you are all quite capable of putting your own quote in some clipart, but for the days you don't have time here are some resources for you.

On a side note...all of the examples I show in my photos have been printed in fast draft.  I love making things for our girls, but the reality is I cannot afford to print everything with photo quality ink each week.  I have an HP photosmart printer, so I know fast draft may not work for everyone, but if you try and you like it... Sometimes my printer gets tired, and you can probably tell a couple of these were printed in fast draft.  I, however, will not lose sleep over it.

I hope each of you find something fun to use in your individual organizations!

What are your dreams?

This is a great quote from an article in the New Era, Five Reasons to Love Personal Progress by Jan Pinborough. I have another handout with a quote from the same article that will hopefully be up in the next few days.

Take Time Handout

This one prints eight to a page.  I punch a hole in the left corner and tied it to some party favor watches I picked up at Walmart.

How to Eat an Elephant Handout

I'm not sure how exactly I stumbled on this article, but I got the idea for the handout after reading an article on the church website, How to Eat an Elephant - Or Plan Your Life (As the Case May Be).  Hmmm...this could end up being a cute theme for a New Beginnings night. They print four to a page.

 Life Saver Handout

I used peppermint lifesavers just because the white life savers look more like life preservers to me.  The life savers are attached with glue dots.  I did fold one end of the wrapper in a bit so it wasn't covering too much of the message.  These print nine to a page.
Step by Step Reminder

This is a quote from Mary N. Cook, from her talk in the April 2010 conference, Never, Never, Never Give Up.  The handouts print six to a sheet.

Faith Value Experience #1

These are for our personal progress basket.  I pulled some rocks from our yard, (I live in Arizona, there are lots of rocks in my yard.), used vinyl lettering to write Prayer on each of the rocks.  I used the vinyl because I can, however, paint pens would work just as well, and if the girls are decorating their own, I would encourage using paint pens. For the bags I found some sticker sheets that had 45 stars on them.  This was enough to cover morning and evening prayers for the entire 3 weeks.  The stickers are under the rocks in the bags.  I also attached a card with the scriptures they have to read and the follow up.  There is a little calendar on the back of the card in case the girls choose to track their daily progress that way.

For the bags I printed conference talks.  I would prefer the girls find their own, but I also like to have everything they need right there.  I pulled from the following talks:

Richard G. Scott, The Transforming Power of Faith and Character, October 2010 Conference
Kevin W. Pearson, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, April 2009 Conference
Richard C. Edgley, Faith - the Choice is Yours, October 2010 Conference
David A. Bednar, Ask in Faith, April 2008 Conference
Henry B. Eyring, A Living Testimony, April 2011 Young Women Broadcast

The cards I used suggested the girls use their stickers and prayer rock to track their progress.  I made some cards without the prayer rock blurb so you can use the card alone with the tracking sheet on the back if you wish.  The cards are designed to print front and back. One stop shopping at it's best!

Faith 1 Flower Card with Prayer Rock Reference
Faith 1 Stone Card with Prayer Rock Reference
Faith 1 Flower Card without Prayer Rock Reference
Faith 1 Stone Card without Prayer Rock Reference

My favorite part about this value experience is all of this can easily be adapted into an activity night.  It's also one that the girls who have completed this value experience can still participate.

For an activity I would recommend reading the scriptures together in small groups, and watching two of the conference talks together.  This is a great opportunity for those working on their honor bees to lead a small group in the scripture study or lead a discussion group after the videos.  To end the night everyone can make a prayer rock to take home and get started on their goal.  Have fun!
